HOUSE THE WAITLIST! BUILD PUBLIC HOUSING!

HOUSE THE WAITLIST! BUILD PUBLIC HOUSING!

Every community in Aotearoa has people and families waiting for public housing – often living in unsafe, unstable and unhealthy situations. At the same time, our communities do not have enough public housing being built to end the waitlist and provide stable and permanently affordable homes for everyone.

House the Waitlist! Keep Building Public Housing! is a campaign for family, friends, neighbours and communities to come together locally in towns and cities all over the country to build paper homes/ apartments to represent local waitlist, and to call on our political leaders to take action to build public housing in our communities. The goal is to build enough paper houses/apartments to represent the true waitlist, collect these up and to deliver these alongside the petition for more public homes in a year's time.

This is inspired by the Victorian Homeless Network's campaign 'Houses at Parliament'.
